An Italian red wine made with grapes from the Eastern hills of Verona. Filled with aromas of black cherries, blackberry, subtle vanilla and sweet spices, it is a complex and well-balanced red with a satisfying finish.
Pale ruby red in colour with a soft nose of redcurrants and red cherries. The palate is very smooth with a core of red fruit flavours and sweet spices supported by supple tannins giving structure to wine. The finish is long and smooth with the red cherry and raspberry notes lingering on the palate. Dry, medium bodied with no oak.
Opened in 1988 in partnership with Retreat Cheltenham, after a restoration project to remove the 70s decor. The Retreat now boasts tall ceilings, polished wooden floors, classic bentwood furniture and that red which is only Retreat red.
