Our usual lovely menu will be served 12-3pm.
From 12pm – 9.30pm we will serve food from our additional menu.
Last orders are 9.30pm and everyone must have vacated by 10pm when we close
The Retreat is committed to keeping us all safe but also wants everyone to enjoy their time with us.
We have carried out a full COVID-19 risk assessment, taken steps to make sure the premises are cleaned to a high standard, screens are used when necessary or required and we keep updated with the many and regular rule changes.
We have been fully inspected by Stroud District Council and also have been granted the AA COVID-19 confident award

Crisp aromatic white wine. Tropical fruits, green apples and limey citrus fruit providing a mouth-watering juiciness. Soft and easy drinking with a crisp, dry finish.
Dryness balanced with full flavoured fruits of apples and pears with a lick of honey.
Unoaked Chardonnay. Powerful aromas of grapefruit, lemon and pineapple with hints of hazelnut. The palate is lively with a range of juicy citrus flavours and crisp balancing acidity
Gooseberry and tropical fruits - ripe and fruity, with a nice snappy finish. Perfect cold.
Soft and dry. Ripe Summer berries and red cherry with a vibrant finish
Lusious strawberry ice-cream on the nose supported by bright jammy strawberries on the palete. An elegant, refreshing medium sweet wine that leads to an off-dry finish.
Wines from the Champagne region were known before medieval times. The Romans were the first to plant vineyards in the area of north-east France, with the region being cultivated by at least the 5th Century, possibly earlier
Yellow label is blended from over 50 wines taken from different Crus (vineyards) and several vintages to produce the house style - all from the three Champagne grape varieties, and is usually around 50% Pinot Noir, 30% Chardonnay and 20%Pinot Meunier
Light, elegant sparkler, less fizz which is exactly what Frizzante means. The palate is light and fresh with delicious hints of green apples and pears.
A dry, elegant Prosecco with gentle balance of supple body, fruit and finesse. Apples, peach and citrus blossom with delicate acidity. Lovely persistent bubbles.
Delicate aromas of red berries which develop to lush summer berries - strawberry and raspberry on the palate. Crisp and fresh, a dry soft sparkler. A lively Pink FIZZ!
Ripe berry and cherry fruits with chocolate, plum and hints of vanilla oak. Sweetness balanced by excellent, silky tannin. Medium bodied and deliciously smooth!
Soft plum, concentrated mulberry with black pepper notes. Smooth savoury tannins
Morello cherry with fresh herbs. Smooth, rounded tannins. Very easy drinking.
This wine has a gorgeous vibrant red colour with purple hues. The nose offers yummy cooked cherry aromas with vanilla hints, this gives way to a mellow rounded palate with a lingering finish.
Full bodied, fruit driven wine. Dark cherry, plum and smokey vanilla oak. Juicy tannins leading to a long persistent finish
Opened in 1988 in partnership with Retreat Cheltenham, after a restoration project to remove the 70s decor. The Retreat now boasts tall ceilings, polished wooden floors, classic bentwood furniture and that red which is only Retreat red.
Locally sourced homemade lunches, served 12noon-3pm and an additional menu served from 3pm to 9.30pm Wednesday to Saturday, this famous quirky bar offers local ales, fine wines and an impressive range of spirits in a relaxed atmosphere
